RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF APRIL 17TH THROUGH APRIL 21ST 2023 AS "WORK ZONE SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK IN SAUK COUNTY"

Purpose

In 1999 the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) partnered with the American Association of State and Highway officials (AASHTO) and more recently with the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) to create the National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week campaign, held annually in April prior to the construction season for much of the nation.  The Wisconsin County Highway Association is asking all seventy-two (72) counties in the state to unite and kick-off “Work Zone Safety Awareness Week” with a resolution and campaign to raise awareness for its’ workers and those of various highway contractors performing work for the counties. 

 

Resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Sauk County, Wisconsin:

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the Federal Highway Administration has designated the week of April 17th through April 21st, 2023 be designated as “Work Zone Awareness Week’ in Sauk County with this year’s theme “You Play A Role In Work Zone Safety.  Work With Us”, which focuses on awareness to all drivers in work zones of their speed and proximity to workers.
