Department Updates:
Electronic Records Implementation (AVATAR): Orth and Box gave an update on Electronic Records Implementation. Implementation is still on track. Obstacles at this time are current workflow versus AVATAR workflow.
Justice Continuum Committee: Orth gave an update. The committee continues to meet. The second draft of a resolution has been completed. The Justice Continuum will consist of three County Board members (one will be chair, one is a Human Services Board member and one from the Law Enforcement and Judiciary Committee), District Attorney, Sheriff, Human Services Director, one Public Defender, one from Probation and Parole, one from a school district, one domestic violence professional, local police chief, physician or nurse familiar with addiction, private defense attorney and one citizen at large. They are finalizing the job description for the coordinator position and hope to hire soon.
Income Maintenance Unit: Orth gave an update. The Income Maintenance Unit has had two resignations. The good news is that the Consortium is working well. Work will shift to Dane County staff until the vacancies are filled. Interviews are scheduled with four people from the last vacancy posting.
Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Regionalization: Orth gave an update. It is in the Governor’s budget to fully fund CCS as of July 2014 if counties regionalize. Sauk County is working with Richland and Columbia counties.
Coordinated Services Teams (CST): Orth gave an update. Money came through the Governor’s budget. This will help families who do not have MA or formal mental health diagnosis. Currently, we serve 12-15 families through the FCF Program. There is the potential to apply for $62,000. We now have a FCF waiting list and this would help to hire a contracted staff person.
The next meeting of the Sauk County Human Services Board will be February 10, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. Motion by James Bowers, seconded by John Miller to adjourn. Motion Carried.
