SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF HUMAN SERVICES

Meeting:                             May 7, 2018, 4:15 p.m., Room 213, West Square Building, Baraboo, WI

Members Present:            John Miller, Patricia Rego, Glen Johnson, Brandon Lohr, Valerie McAuliffe, Timothy McCumber, James Bowers, Julie Fleming

Members Excused:                            

Members Absent:             Beverly Vertein

Sauk County DHS Director, Daniel Brattset called the meeting to order and certified compliance with the Open Meeting Law.

Motion by Patricia Rego, seconded by James Bowers to adopt agenda.  Motion Carried.

Human Services Board Organization

Election of Officers:

Patricia Rego was nominated for Chair.  Motion by Glen Johnson, seconded by Brandon Lohr to elect Patricia Rego as Chair.  Motion Carried.

Timothy McCumber nominated for Vice Chair.  Motion by James Bowers, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe to elect Timothy McCumber as Vice Chair.  Motion Carried.

Valerie McAuliffe nominated for Secretary.  Motion by Brandon Lohr, seconded by Glen Johnson to elect Valerie McAuliffe as Secretary.  Motion Carried.

Set Meeting Date and Time:  Meeting times will remain the first business Monday after the first Thursday of the month at 4:15 p.m.  The current future dates will be distributed to all board members via email.  Meeting dates and times will be revisited at the end of the summer.

John Miller arrived 4:33 p.m.

Motion by James Bowers, seconded by Glen Johnson to approve the minutes for the previous Human Services Board meeting held on April 9, 2018.  Motion Carried.

Communication:

Board Materials:  Distributed electronically.
Department of Children and Families Letter of Recognition:  Distributed electronically.

Business Items:

Review and Approve Monthly Vouchers:  Distributed electronically.  Stephanie Box reviewed the Monthly Voucher Report.  Motion by Timothy McCumber, seconded by James Bowers, to approve monthly vouchers in the amount of $1,771,108.85.  Motion carried.  

Accounts Receivable Report:  Stephanie Box distributed and reviewed the Accounts Receivable Report for April 2018.

Approval for Collection Requests:  Motion by John Miller, seconded by Valerie McAuliffe, to approve sending 25 accounts to Credit Management Control for $11,444.79.  Motion carried.

Monthly Reports:  Distributed electronically.  Stephanie Box discussed the March 2018 Volatile line report.

Approve Resolution Commending Sue Bodendein for Over 30 Years of Service to the People of Sauk County:  Dan Brattset and Stephanie discussed the longevity and dedication from Sue.  Motion by Timothy McCumber, seconded by Glen Johnson, to approve resolution commending Sue Bodendein for over 30 years of service to the people of Sauk County. Motion carried. 

Department Updates:

Closure of St. Clare Center, AODA Services: Sharon Boesl stated St. Clare Center, a small substance use specialty clinic providing intensive care of AODA services, will be closing.  They provided several additional services for the community.  Each county is responsible for providing assessments for individuals who are cited for OWI/DWI.  St. Clare Center provided the assessments for that service.  Tellurian, a local outpatient service with an inpatient service located in Madison, is making the necessary protocol to continue those services.  The VP for St. Clare Hospital has given the transition period until July 14, 2018.

Closure of a Baraboo Trailer Park and Housing First Funds: Dan Brattset discussed the closure of the Baraboo trailer park and how it will impact the families with trailers.  The final eviction date is July 15, 2018.

Sauk County Department of Human Services Service Area and Program Descriptions: Distributed electronically is a list of services provided by DHS and contracted staff.  Any board members interested in knowing more about the services provided are welcome to meet with Dan Brattset prior to the board meeting on June 4, 2018, at 3 p.m.
