Rehabilitation of CTH H from Fawn Valley Road to North Frontage Road in Sauk County is expected to begin, weather permitting, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 according to the Sauk County Highway Department.

During the reconstruction, CTH H will remain open. However, the highway will be reduced to one lane during the day with flaggers being used to control traffic during construction work. Motorists are advised to expect delays and should take alternate routes. The project should be completed by October.

Work for this project includes milling and pulverizing the existing asphalt surface, mixing liquid asphalt with millings, relaying and paving with 3.5 inches of hot mixed asphalt pavement type E-3. Guardrail will also be upgraded. The roadway will be a 22 feet wide asphalt surface with 6 feet shoulders, which 4 feet are paved to accommodate for increased traffic, bicyclists and truck traffic.

The improvements will provide a smoother, safer driving surface and the existing beam guard will be replaced to meet current design standards. The CTH H project length is 12.2 miles.

Ryan Horst from Strand Associates, Inc. has been named Project Leader and will be at the project site daily to coordinate the work. Horst’s field office will be located at 857 CTH H, Wisconsin Dells. The phone number there is 608-477-3789. D.L. Gasser Construction Company, Inc. of Baraboo, WI is the prime contractor for this $4,162,349.15 project.
