UW –Baraboo/Sauk County Campus Commission
Thursday, October 18, 2012: 8:00 A.M.
Members Present: Wedekind, Geimer, Lombard, Von Asten, Giese and DeMars
Members Absent: Kolb
Others Present: T. Pleger, D. Armstrong , P. Kohlmeyer, T. Liebman, T. Stieve, K. Schauf, M. Krueger, P. Vedro, T. Pinion, M. Palm, E. Geick, M. Reitz, S. Wildeck, B. Boettcher, M. Jurvelin and J. Schnaare
The meeting was moved to the Rodems Room to allow adequate room for attendees at this meeting. Chair Wedekind called the meeting to order at 8:03 A.M. and certified compliance with the Open Meetings Law.
MOTION (Geimer/Lombard) to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION (Lombard/Geimer) to approve minutes of the September 20, 2012 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

Financial Report:
C. Giese, City Clerk-Finance Director distributed the revenue/expenditure report for the period 1/1/12 to 10/31/12 indicating an unexpended balance of $ 9,601.30, a Designated-Capital Equipment account balance of $ 26,052.41 and $ 38,107.25 in Fund Balance.
Maintenance Report, review and payment of bills:
P. Kohlmeyer, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds distributed the monthly list of bills. She reported there will be invoices yet for some various fall routine maintenance. MOTION (Geimer/Lombard) to approve payment of bills in the amount of $7,752.59. Motion carried unanimously.
Dean’s Report:
o Enrollment is just under 600 with a strong last 5 year average
o Seeing a growth in the nontraditional student
o Looking at a program which allows students to purchase books direct rather than through the bookstores to help minimize costs to them
o Reported on future events in November with UW Chancellor Cross and Board of Regents, Vice President Falbo
Facilities Planning Report:
D. Armstrong reported on the status of the energy conservation project, noting the replacement of LED lights in several areas including the gym and the solar panel placement on the gym roof to be started soon.
Possible closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. s 19.85(1) (e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. (Initial review and presentation of proposal by campus staff followed by presentation by BMOC): MOTION (Wedekind/Geimer) to go into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. s 19.85(1) (e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Roll call vote. AYES: (6) Wedekind, Lombard, Von Asten, Geimer, Giese and DeMars. NAY: (0). ABSENT: (1) Kolb. Motion carried unanimously and committee went into closed session.
MOTION (Lombard/DeMars) to reconvene to open session immediately following the closed session. Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION (Lombard/DeMars) to adjourn and set a special meeting on October 25, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Rodems Room to include a closed session for discussion of BMOC ‘s presentation; and the meeting adjourned.
