Sauk County Board of Canvassers Meeting

Monday, April 10, 2017

9:00 a.m.

West Square Building, 505 Broadway, Room #140, Baraboo, Wisconsin

 

Call to order and certification of compliance with Open Meeting Law at 9:05 A.M.

 

Board of Canvassers present: 

Marcy Huffaker, Sauk County Canvasser; Patricia L. Carignan, Sauk County Canvasser; Rebecca C. Evert, Sauk County Clerk

Others present:  Michelle Commings, Deputy Sauk County Clerk      

 

Canvassers reviewed the zero report tapes to verify all totals were zero at the beginning of the night on the tabulation equipment.  Votes cast at the April 4, 2017 Spring Election were verified reviewing the highest number of votes cast is the same or less than the highest numbers of voters reporting on poll lists, and verifying that the number of ballots cast is the same or less than the highest number of voters on the poll lists.  Inspectors’ Statements and Incident Logs were also reviewed and canvass incidents and adjustments noted. 

 

Provisional ballots were canvassed and counted.  No discrepancies were noted.

 

Items of note:

Town of Sumpter, Ward 1 and Town of Sumpter, Ward 3 number of ballots did not match the number of voters on the poll books.  Chief Inspector, Donna Ziegler, was reached via telephone and explained that it was her belief that 3 voters were given the wrong ballots. 

Town of Washington Wards 1 & 2: One ballot was cat in the wrong ward.

 

MOTION (Huffaker/Carignan) to adjourn for a lunch break at 10:50 am.  The meeting resumed at 12:45 pm.
