Certification of compliance with the open meeting law. Motion by Schauf, second by Lombard, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried. Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard to approve the minutes of the prior meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment Assistant Professor Megan Steinweg and students who are part of the Green Science Club appeared to present a topic for future meeting discussion – converting the library roof to a “white roof”.
Dennis Nachreiner representing subcontractors for student housing project regarding concerns that the vendors have over non-payment.
Communications John Nickolai regarding options for resolution of subcontractor issues; Sarah Johnson requesting Campus Commission take action to resolve subcontractor issues with student housing.
Motion by Kolb, second by Geimer to move into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. s. 19.85(1)(g) Conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved. Residence hall contractor issues. Motion includes Dean White, David Armstrong, Marty Krueger, Mike Palm, Tom Pinion, Steve Wildeck, and Tim Stieve remaining. Roll call vote: AYE: Wedekind, Kolb, Geimer, Lombard, VonAsten, Giese, Schauf (7) NAY: (0) ABSENT: (0). Motion carried.
Motion by Kolb, second by Geimer to reconvene in open session. Motion carried.
Consideration of Science Facility Change Orders.
Details of change orders are included on the Proposal log. Motion by Lombard, second by Von Asten to approve the change order log as approved to date, including 41 – 44, and revisions to 6 and 32 (replaced #19). Motion carried.
Armstrong presented samples of flooring material for potential change order to remodeled portions of the project moving from ground concrete to laminate / carpet. The change order will be considered when more information is available.
Consideration of Bray’s request to indemnify and hold harmless.
Motion by VonAsten, second by Kolb to deny the request of Bray to indemnify and hold harmless for water proofing, roofing system, leak detection, and the curtain wall system. Motion carried.
Facilities and Maintenance Report(s) David Armstrong presented information on maintenance.
Financial Report and Bills Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb to pay the bills in the amount of $5,840.25; and current bills for the Science facility to date of n$369,366.76. Motion carried.
Deans Report Tracy White, Dean the potential impact of the state budget on operations.
Next regular meeting date: April 16, 2015, 8:00 a.m.
Motion by Kolb, second by Geimer to adjourn. Motion carried.
