SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
PROPERTY AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE MEETING
July 11, 2011

Members Present: Virgil Hartje, Al Dippel, Lowell Haugen, George Johnson, David Riek
Others Present: Timothy Stieve, Carl Gruber, Julie Hyser, Alene Klezcek-Bolin, Liz Geoghegan, Marty Krueger, Bob Fleming, Don Fleming

1. Meeting called to order by Hartje at 8:00 a.m. Compliance with Open Meeting Law was met.

2. Adopt Agenda: Motion by Johnson, 2nd by Riek to approve agenda. Carried.

3. Adopt draft minutes of June 06, 2011: Motion by Riek, 2nd by Haugen to approve
minutes. Carried.

4. Public comment: None

5. Communications: Request for use of the Courthouse Square for Old Fashioned Fest, July 23, 2011,
6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Homecoming pre-parade, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (date to be determined) and Boo Fest on October 31, 2011, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Motion by Dippel, 2nd by Haugen to approve. Carried

6. Business Items:
a. Treasurers report - Discussion regarding Christmas Mountain tax deeded property. Alene filed the court
case and the papers were served on June 05, 2011. The property owner did not respond; therefore, a default judgment was approved on June 08, 2011. Liz reported the current debt against the property is $24,000. Marty is in the process of taking bids for minor landscaping to be done prior to the open house which is scheduled for August 15, 2011. A starting bid of $100,000 was suggested by Riek. Motion by Riek, 2nd by Dippel to approve beginning bid of $100,000. Carried.

b. Tim discussed the HCC Demo project. Crushing is completed and final grading should be done within a
few weeks. Tim approved the request of the Sauk County Highway Department to place fill in low areas on the property from materials the will have as part of the work they are doing on CTH CH. The low area has nothing to do with the demolition project.

c. Don Fleming requested permission to develop an ATV trail on the Hillpoint tower site. Tim had prior
discussions concerning this request with Corporation Council Todd Liebman. It was suggested this be further discussed with Corporation Counsel to determine how to proceed.

d. Tim and Marty gave a review of the resolution regarding an approval to lease space for the Sauk County
Development Corporation. Motion by Johnson, 2nd by Dippel to forward the resolution to County Board. Carried.

7. Departmental Updates - Risk Management (Carl Gruber).
a. Carl provided the monthly report for Risk Management.
b. Deductibles: Motion by Johnson, 2nd by Riek to approve deductibles in the amount of $500. Carried.

Departmental Updates - Buildings, Communications/Towers & Landfill (Tim Stieve).
a. Tim provided the monthly report for Buildings/Communications.
b. Tim reviewed vouchers. Motion by Riek, 2nd by Haugen to approve the vouchers. Carried.
8. Next Meeting date: Regular meeting was set for August 08, 2011, at 8:00 a.m.

9. Adjourn: Motion by Dippel, second by Riek to adjourn. Carried
