PROPERTY AND INSURANCE COMMITTEE MEETING

April 1, 2021

Approved Minutes

 

Members Present:               Carl Gruber, Shane Gibson, Kevin Schell

Members Absent:               Mark Detter, Joel Chrisler                                                                                                                                 

Others Present:                     William Commings, Elizabeth Geoghegan, Phil Raab

1.     Meeting called to order by Gruber at 5:00 p.m. Compliance with Open Meeting Law was met (WIS. STAT. 19.84)

2.     Adopt Agenda:  Motion by Gibson, 2nd by Shell to adopt Agenda. Motion Carried

3.     Adopt draft minutes of March 4th meeting: Motion by Schell to adopt the draft minutes, 2nd by Gibson. Motion Carried.

4.    Public Comment- none

5.     Communications-

        a. Barry Board lawn request Kiwanis request permission to place Barry Board on Courthouse lawn. Motion by Schell to approve the request, 2nd by Gibson. Motion Carried

        b. Downtown Baraboo Picnic Table request Downtown Baraboo Inc. requested to put picnic tables on the Courthouse lawn. Motion by Schell to approve the request, 2nd by Gibson. Motion Carried

        c. May 6th National Day of Prayer Lawn use request Maudie Russ, National Day of Prayer Chair requested the use of the Courthouse square lawn for the National Day of Prayer event. Motion by Gibson to approve, 2nd by Schell. Motion Carried

6.   Business Items:

     a.      Treasurer’s Report –

      i. Sale Report- Elizabeth provided the Committee with the Sale Report for February and March

      ii. Discussion and consideration of setting minimum sale prices for sale of tax foreclosed properties Motion by Schell to set the prices for the properties, 2nd by Gibson. Motion Carried

      iii. Discussion and possible approval to accept an offer to purchase and a 90-day building permit contingency by Kenneth & Jennifer Gher for Parcel # 044-1451-00000- Withdrawn        

7.  Buildings, Communications/Towers & Landfill Updates – Ian Crammond

           a. Monthly Report- William reviewed the monthly report with the committee.

     b. Communications Report- Phil discussed the communications report with the committee.

           c. Discussion and possible approval of the 2020 Building Services carryforward request- Motion by Schell to approve the request, 2nd by Gibson. Motion Carried  

           d. Discussion and possible approval of a Resolution to Extend County owned Fiber Infrastructure from in front of Gordon L Wilson School to the UW-Platteville at Baraboo Sauk County Campus. Motion by Gibson to approve the Resolution to Extend County owned Fiber Infrastructure from in front of Gordon L Wilson School to the UW-Platteville at Baraboo Sauk County Campus,  2nd by Schell. Motion Carried.

       e. Building Services Capital Project updates- William reviewed the Capital Project Updates with the committee

     f. Review and Approval of Vouchers Motion by Gibson to approve the vouchers in the amount of $171,315.67, 2nd by Schell. Motion Carried.
