ORDER OF BUSINESS

The meeting was called to order by T. Meister at 8:15 A.M. and was certified to be in compliance with the Open Meetings Law.

AGENDA

Motion by P. Tollaksen, second by C. Montgomery to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

MINUTES

Motion by C. Montgomery, second by P. Tollaksen, to approve the January 8, 2010, minutes of the regular business meeting as sent. Motion carried.

PUBLIC HEALTH.

C. Bodendein appeared to request the ability to conduct recruitment for vacant Public Health Nurse as the result of a resignation. The 2010 budget is inclusive of the continuation of this position. Motion by C. Montgomery, second by S. Alexander, to conduct recruitment for Public Health Nurse as presented. Motion carried.

PUBLIC HEALTH.

C. Bodendein appeared to request the ability to conduct recruitment for vacant part-time Home Care Nurse as the result of an employee transferring to different department. The 2010 budget is inclusive of the continuation of this position as part of Home Care. Motion by P. Tollaksen, second by H. Netzinger, to conduct recruitment for part-time Home Care Nurse as presented. Motion carried.

HUMAN SERVICES.

D. Brattset and G. Thill appeared to request the ability to conduct recruitment for Family Care Social Worker Case Manager. This is a new position funded through primarily grant dollars. Motion by H. Netzinger, second by S. Alexander, to conduct recruitment for Family Care Social Worker Case Manager position, with the understanding when funding for the program ends, the position will be eliminated. Motion carried.

DEPARTMENTAL UPDATE

M. Posewitz distributed the activity report for the month including meetings, recruitments, terminations, labor activities and benefits information. The SEIU grievance hearing scheduled for this meeting was dropped. Posewitz presented the Committee with the monthly unemployment statistics, updates on the department budget and other issues. Negotiations sessions with the Health Care Center and Sheriff’s Department are scheduled for February 23, March 8.

Motion by P. Tollaksen, second by C. Montgomery, to accept the Departmental Update as presented and to approve the bills in the amount of $6,582.00. Motion carried.

Motion by H. Netzinger, second by P. Tollaksen, to adjourn until 5:00 P.M. Thursday, March 11, for regular business meeting. Motion carried.
