Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

November 6, 2012
The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 09:30 am, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.
Members Present: Stevens, Johnson, Halfen, Nobs
Members Absent:
Members Excused: Tollaksen
Others Present: J. Tobin, K. Fults, J. Fry, G. Hahn,
1. Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by Chair Donald Stevens at 9:30 am.

2. Agenda: Motion by Nobs, seconded by Johnson, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

3. Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Halfen, seconded by Nobs approve the minutes from previous meeting(s) October 9, 2012. Motion carried.

4. Communications:
Letter from Department of Transportation regarding $80,000 in grants for 2013.

7. Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update: No Appearance

8. Consideration of Resolution: Authorizing the Purchase of Replacement Servers for the Sheriff’s Dispatch & Records Management System.
Motion by Halfen, seconded by Nobs, Authorizing the Purchase of a Replacement Servers for the Sheriff’s Dispatch & Records Management System. Motion Carried.

9. Review and approve October 2012, expenses for Coroner:
Motion by Halfen, seconded by Johnson, to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for October 2012, in the amount of $3,497.60. Bills discussed. Motion carried.

10. Review and approve October 2012, expenses for Sheriff:
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Halfen, to approve payment of the Sheriff’s Department expenses for September 2012 in the amount of $117,189.63. Bills discussed. Motion carried.

11. Sheriff’s Report.
Number of Calls Report handed out. 5,605 calls for service in October 2012.
Overtime for October 2012– 924 hrs.
There was 125 Prisoner Transports in October 2012.
Prisoner Transport cost for 20 Juveniles was $3,995.40 for transport.
Civil Process papers served for October was 265
EM Report for October – Total of 452 offender days. Collected $7,684.00 in fees and was invoiced $1,726.64 for a profit of $5,957.36.
Average daily population for October 2012 was 142. Average daily population for October 2012 was 179.
Housing Year to Date billing handed out. $406,675.12
Committee updated and advised that the Request for Proposal for the Jail Study.

12. Adjournment

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for December 11, 2012 at 9:30 am. Motion by Johnson, seconded by Halfen to adjourn the meeting at10:02 am. Motion Carried.
