Tri-County Airport:
Drainage project and runway improvements, Greg Jewell from Jewell & Associates presenting.
Discussion of possible funding participation for Sauk County.
Greg Jewell, Engineer and Principal at Jewell & Associates, described flood and water movement in the Tri-County Airport area and proposed creation of a ditch to move water to Bear Creek.
A roadway, taxiway, and lighting project is already in process for 2021 for $4,250,000. The Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics (BOA) and Federal participation in the project is 95%, with the counties funding the remaining 5%. The BOA and Federal government appear to have interest in participating in the drainage project at the same 95/5 ratio for an additional estimated project cost of $5,000,000.
Sauk and Richland Counties would need to share in costs of approximately $662,500 to $787,500. This would be:
5% of the Bureau of Aeronautics projects of $9,250,000, or $462,500
$100,000-$125,000 for engineering
$100,000-$200,000 for land acquisition
The allocation between Sauk and Richland Counties is yet to be determined.
Cardinal Glass has also indicated they would fund a portion of the project as well, preliminarily $279,750.
Possible funding could be from American Rescue Funds, depending on the guidance and definitions still to be issued by the Federal government.
Motion by McCumber, second by Flint to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn Eberl
Finance Committee Secretary
