The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 6:30 p.m. The agenda was approved on a motion by Fish, second by Riek.
The meeting minutes from the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Riek, second by Lehman. Motion carried.
Public Comment None.
Communications
The agenda for upcoming meeting with the Department of Natural Resources and municipalities on trail development.
Rail Update – State Purchase of UP / Madison – Reedsburg Line. Krueger updated the committee regarding the appearance by Governor Walker at Seneca Foods earlier this month. It is anticipated that the acquisition of the rail line is imminent. The topic of local match will also arise as the details are finalized. The match may come from a variety of sources including public and private. Participation in the local match will not be known until numbers are finalized. Polivka reported on the WSOR Executive meeting of last week.
Trails Update – Reference was made to the upcoming meeting with the Department of Natural Resources and local municipalities. The meeting is designed to communicate with localities through which the trail will traverse. Sharing expectations, intentions and process will be reviewed.
Update and Report on PSC Broadband Demand Survey Keri Olson, Jim Allen, Marty Krueger, and Kathy Schauf updated efforts to distribute and receive responses to the Public Service Commission’s broadband survey in the residential and business community. Outreach to local governments, schools, libraries and business’ is under way. Current responses are: We have 329 electronic residential responses, and 543 paper surveys.
Consideration of Executive Summary: Property Re-Use. Draft distributed.
Inclusion of Wiedman Acres and Dellona purchase. Chair Krueger relayed discussion with Highway and Parks Committee. The committee will meet with Town officials and include preliminary findings in report.
Motion by Stehling, second by Polivka, to adjourn the meeting to August 26, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Motion carried. Agenda items: 1. Budget presentations by outside agencies. August 22, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.tour of Dellona property and meeting with Town Officials.
