The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 6:30 p.m. The agenda was approved on a motion by Riek, second by Lehman. Motion carried.
The minutes from prior meetings were approved on a motion by Gaalswyk, second by Stevens. Motion carried.
Public Comment
Jack Meegan – Concern over lack of signage on bypass and primarily the lack of traffic on County Highway BD. Requesting help from the county to obtain proper signage. What can the county do to help us?
Andrea Lombard – Long term problem as this is a tourist area.
Communications
Information to support request by WSOR for a letter of support for their application for USDOT Tiger 2012 Discretionary Grant Program funds.

Support for USDOT Tiger 2012 Discretionary Grant Program
K. Lucht presented information regarding the upgrades that are being proposed to the trackage between Lone Rock and Middleton that are slated for improvements. The request was made for a letter of support to accompany the application. The project is slated to occur over the next few years. The grant allows for a more timely upgrade to the system to be made. Motion by Gaalswyk, second by Riek, to endorse support of this application with a letter. Motion carried.
Discussion of process to address long-term issues associated with Highway 12 corridor development.
Krueger provided history of the Economic Development Committee and prior work to develop consensus around solutions that may be applied for addressing the Hwy BD corridor development needs.
Key process points moving forward:
• Short term sub-committee to address signage needs with the Department of Transportation.
• Stakeholders form and define the issues; Economic Development provided the platform and resources for discussion.
• Area of scope is from Ski-Hi to Lake Delton.
• Ensure that correct representative from the Department of Transportation is available as a resource.
• Consensus amongst stakeholders will give legislators what they need to support solutions at the state level. Dealing with a coordinated community of interests will allow for greater success.
• Business leaders have volunteered to serve as stakeholders: North group: Bill Brown, Scott Larsen, South group: Jason Grossenbacher and Mary Durst.
• Stakeholders: 1. Town of Baraboo, 2. Town of Delton, 3. Town of Sumpter, 4. City of Baraboo, 5. Village of W. Baraboo, 6. Village of Lake Delton, 7. Ho Chunk Nation, 8. Baraboo Chamber of Commerce, 9. Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau, 10. Tourism NPO’s: Crane Foundation, 11. Circus World, Devil’s Lake State Park, 12. 13. North businesses (2 each) retail – Timothy Lane, 14. 15. South businesses (2 each) retail, 16. Industrial, 17. Downtown Baraboo Incorporated.

Motion by Stevens, second by Riek, to postpone item #8 – discussion of landfill process. Motion carried.
