6:00 P.M. – Public Hearing on the proposed 2018 Sauk County Budget:  Pursuant to Wis. Stats. §65.90, for the purpose of soliciting comments from the public regarding the 2018 Sauk County Budget for County Operations.

Convene Public Hearing on the proposed 2018 Sauk County Budget:  Marty Krueger, County Board Chair.

Resolution 113-2017 Authorizing That The Compensation For Supervisors For 2018-2020 Term  Remain Unchanged.  MOTION (Moore/Polivka). 

MOTION (Kriegl/Von Asten) To Amend Resolution 113-2017 To Change The Compensation For Supervisors From $50.00 To $60.00 For Committee Meetings For 2018-2020 Term.  Discussioncontinued in favor of, and opposition to the motion.

FINANCE COMMITTEE:

Resolution 117-2017 Establishing Taxes To Be Levied In Sauk County For The Year 2018.  MOTION (Flint/Bychinski).  Discussion followed regarding proposed amendments and budget process.

MOTION (Wenzel/Kriegl) to amend Resolution 117-2017 to include Amendment #8, to appropriate funds for grant award in the amount of $150,000 received after budgets compiled. VOTE:  AYES:  (29) Czuprynko, Kriegl, Meister, Johnson, Pettersen, Dietz, Braunschweig, Deitrich, Bychinski, Flint, Moore, White Eagle, Hovde, Vedro, Miller, Von Asten, Lombard, Ashford, Spencer, Berlin, Polivka, Riek, Andrews, Hambrecht, Wenzel, Stehling, Netzinger, Fordham and Krueger.  NAYS:  (0).  ABSENT:  (1) Peper (Excused).  VACANT:  (1).  Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION (Johnson/Moore) to amend Resolution 117-2017 to include Amendment #2, increase sales tax estimate to $330,148 and reduce tax levy by $330,148. VOTE:  AYES:  (12) Kriegl, Johnson, Dietz, Moore, White Eagle, Hovde, Vedro, Von Asten, Ashford, Riek, Andrews and Stehling.  NAYS:  (17) Czuprynko, Meister, Pettersen, Braunschweig, Deitrich, Bychinski, Flint, Miller, Lombard, Spencer, Berlin, Polivka, Hambrecht, Wenzel, Netzinger, Fordham and Krueger.  ABSENT:  (1) Peper (Excused).  VACANT:  (1).  Motion failed.

MOTION (Hovde/Vedro) to amend Resolution 117-2017 to include Amendment #1, to  reduce building security from $250,000 to $100,000, already funded completely by general fundbalance.  Chair Krueger turned the meeting over to Vice Chair Fordham, as he is the BoardRepresentative on the Sauk County Courthouse Security and Facilities Committee, and wished to    participate in the discussion.  Chief Deputy Jeff Spencer and Ian Crammond, Facilities Manager,responded to supervisor’s questions. VOTE:  AYES:  (5) Kriegl, Hovde, Vedro, Miller and Von Asten.  NAYS:  (24) Czuprynko, Meister, Johnson, Pettersen, Dietz, Braunschweig, Deitrich, Bychinski, Flint, Moore, White Eagle, Lombard, Ashford, Spencer, Berlin, Polivka, Riek, Andrews, Hambrecht, Wenzel, Stehling, Netzinger, Fordham and Krueger.  ABSENT:  (1) Peper (Excused).  VACANT:  (1).  Motion failed.
