If a vacancy occurs on the Board, the Chair is authorized to appoint a qualified elector of the supervisory district wherein the vacancy occurs to fill the unexpired term. Discussion regarding contracting out snow plowing vs. in house. William McClary, Sauk County Health Care Center Chief Engineer, addressed the Board with an overview of snow plowing needs at the Health Care Center Facility. Second round of discussion: MOVED (Sinklair/Johnson), TO POSTPONE RESOLUTION 105-2011 to the November 15, 2011 County Board meeting, and that the Highway and Parks Committee provide a list of how much is spent per year under this resolution. Resolution 107-2011 Authorizing Sauk County Sheriff’s Department To Enter Into A Contract Agreement With Correctional Healthcare Companies To Oversee And Provide Licensed Healthcare Services For The Jail Inmates Effective January 1, 2012. MOVED (Stevens/Halfen). Supervisors Stevens and Halfen with overview.

Discussion regarding expenses to prepare property for sale; and number of bids received. Elizabeth Goeghegan Sauk County Treasurer, presented a breakdown of expenses in the amount of $6,046.64 to prepare the property for sale. • Budget amendment process: Supervisors may submit proposed amendments to the 2012 proposed Budget, (see memo in the 2012 Proposed Budget Book) – the Proposed Supervisor Amendment form is located in the 2012 Proposed Budget book, and is posted on the Sauk County web site in Microsoft Word and pdf formats:

• Marty Krueger, County Board Chair, entertained a motion to certify the proposed 2012 Sauk County Budget for publication; and to set the time and date for the Public Hearing on the proposed Budget. This begins the budget review process for the County as a whole.
MOTION (Bychinski/Tollaksen), to approve the proposed 2012 Sauk County Budget for publication, and to set the time and date for the public hearing on the proposed budget, with
1. total County expenses of $77,471,107;
2. a levy rate, including special purpose levies, of $4.54 per $1,000.00;
3. and total levy dollars raised of $28,531,297,

• Chair Krueger announcement: Petition for public budget hearing at 6:00 pm. on November 3, 2011 immediately followed by a special meeting of the Sauk County Board of Supervisors in the Sauk County Board meeting room for the purpose of discussion, and possibly amending, the 2012 proposed Sauk County Budget failed with 14 signatures in support of.
