The Badger Interim Oversight Management Commission (IOMC) convened at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant Bldg 207 Meeting Room for its regular meeting on Thursday, July 22, 2010.
Chair Wenzel called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Staff affirmed compliance with Open Meetings Laws.

Motion by Grant, seconded by Mullen to adopt the agenda for the July 22, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Schmelzer, seconded by Wenzel to adopt the minutes for the May 26, 2010 meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment:

Commissioner Reports:
- Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources: Karr provided a report along with the agenda and stated tha the plans for the land transfer celebration went off smoothly. Smelzer is working on a budget and master planning is beginning internally and will require inviting experts and forming a committee. DNR will work with HoChunk and USDF to try to create one plan that needs to address tourism, education, recreation and economic impact.
- Town of Merrimac: Grant – discussed human access to the property by those living within close proximity and is concerned about preserving open space.
- Town of Sumpter: Mullen - no report.
- Bluffview Sanitary District – Coliform found when DRN tested water and provided an advisory to boil water. Due to problems in communicating with all residents, the water and sanitary group are developing procedures to avoid problems like thi sin the future.
- Sauk County: Wenzel – discussed the dedicate area for the web site through the Planning and Zoning Department page.
- HoChunk : Discussed working on their own website updates.
Committee Reports:
- Executive and Finance. No report.
- Planning and Land Use. Karr reported on new USDF facility proposal, as well as interns inventorying soil and plants on both the USDA and HoChunk lands and possibilities for requesting funding from HoChunk grant through Planning & Zoning Committee.
- Education and Outreach. Discussed work crew activities and the bluebird trails.
- AdHoc. No report.
Liaison Reports:
- US Army: Report was presented with the agenda. Also read by Wenzel.
- USDA: No report.
New Business:
- Discussion of DNR land acquisition. Karr stated there is nothing more to report on the recent acquisition and hopefully more parcels will soon be transfered.
- Future transfers. The committee discussed possible Brownfield’s grant.
- Invasive Species: Discussion on piggybacking on invasives as well as Southwest Badger a possible resource for grant funds.
