REGULAR MEETING

ATTENDANCE:

Members Present:  Arthur Carlson, Chair, Janice Brown, Ruth Dawson, Vern Demers, Theron Hill, Phyllis Johnson, Eileen Klepper, Janet Pearson, and Joan Wucherer

Others Present:  Trish Vandre, ADRC of Sauk County Director and Thomas Litscher, ADRC of Sauk County Mobility & Operations Manager, DeeDee Heath, Golden Care Advisor, St. Clare Hospital

Absent: None

  1. Call to Order and Certify Compliance with Open Meeting Law: The Meeting was called to order by A. Carlson at 8:34 a.m. and was certified to be in compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
  2. Adopt Agenda: Motion by T. Hill to adopt the Agenda, second by R. Dawson. Motion carried.
  3. Adopt Minutes of Previous Meeting: Motion by V. Demers to approve the November 27, 2012 Regular Meeting Minutes, second by T. Hill. Motion carried.
  4. Public Comment: None.
  5. Communications: Compliments to Mindy Shrader, EBS, for outstanding customer service work.

VISION STATEMENT

All older adults and adults with disabilities will live in and be part of a caring community that values lifelong contributions, maximum independence and individual dignity.

MISSION STATEMENT

To empower and support older adults, adults with disabilities and their families by providing easily accessible quality information and assistance.  The Aging and Disability Resource Center will provide services, resources, advocacy and opportunities to support each individual’s choices for independence and enhanced quality of life.

            VISION: 

            FOCUS:

            COMMUNICATION: 

  • Get the message out; invite staff into community
  • Act as advocate for community members to guide people to the resources and services
  • Inform people when there isn’t a crisis, encourage them to get general information
    • Reach down into the Baby Boomers and parents
  • Write letter to newspaper about program areas as a Committee member
  • Direct people to AddLIFE Today!

            ENGAGEMENT/CREATING  BUY-IN: 

  • Help to encourage potential volunteers
  • Senior center members
  • Talk to local municipalities about organization
  • Those outside normal users of the services; those outside the “choir”
  • Including other organizations; St Clare Hosp, Parish RNs

            RISK TAKING:  

  • Advocating a program that may raise controversy
    • Developing new programs
      Doing something we’ve never done before; what’s the next “big thing”/way of doing business

    • Discussion of Potential New Members
