Warren Frank, VFW District Commander; Gerald Parchem, VFW Post 987 Commander; Art Biesek, Sauk CO Legion Commander; Paul Washam, Marine Corps League; Jim Wieczorek, Commandant Marine Corps League, Eagles Nest Detachment; Judith Greger; Dave Gorak. Peter Vedro, Sauk County Board of Supervisors, District 15 offered to speak in favor of the Veteran’s Service Office position but Marty Krueger objected to board members speaking during public comment. Vedro’s comments were made during the discussion about the web Network of Care portal and the Veteran’s Service Office position.
1. Call to Order: The Meeting was called to order by D. Riek at 9:06 a.m. and was certified to be in compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
2. Adopt Agenda: Motion by D. Moore to adopt the Agenda, second by T. Gramling. Motion carried.
3. Adopt Minutes of Previous Meeting: Motion by D. Moore to adopt the September 11, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes, second by C. Held. Motion carried.
4. Public Comment: Warren Frank, Gerald Parchem, Art Biesek, Paul Washam, Jim Wieczorek, Judith Greger and Dave Gorak spoke in favor of creating one new Veterans Benefit Specialist position through the 2015 budget process.
5. Communications: D. Riek read aloud an e-mail from Debra Muchow in favor of creating an additional Veterans Benefit Specialist position. K. Olson read aloud an e-mail from Arthur Carlson regarding his concerns with ADRC Committee support of K. Olson and the number of former ADRC employees. K. Olson spoke of a phone message of appreciation of the restored Fun-day Travels Program. K. Olson read aloud an e-mail of appreciation from a Fun-day Travels passenger. K. Olson read aloud an e-mail of appreciation from a client of Jim Pritzkow, Lead Aging & Disability Specialist. K. Olson read aloud a written letter of appreciation from a volunteer of Cathy Bindl, Volunteer and Caregiver Program Specialist. K. Olson spoke of the many comments received in appreciation of the restored Taxi Subsidy Program. K. Olson read aloud an e-mail from Becky Dahl in appreciation of Mindy Shrader, Elder Benefit Specialist. K. Olson read aloud an e-mail of appreciation from a client of Debra Harvey, Elder Benefit Specialist.

10. Consideration of the Network of Care – Veterans Service:
A. Presentation by the Network of Care. A demonstration of the web Network of Care portal sponsored by NACO, WCA and others was conducted. The joint Finance/Personnel Committees on October 1, 2014 had postponed approval of the new Veterans Service Office position pending this demonstration. Immediately after this demonstration, it was the consensus of the committee (plus board member Vedro) that while the website might have some future supplemental value, it is no substitute for another staff position in the Veteran’s Service Office. Consequently, the formal support of the ADRC Committee for adding the new Veterans Service Office position remained intact.
