6. Reconvene in Open Session; Reconvened in open session at 8:30 a.m.
7. Communications
A. ADRC Client, Carol, to discuss; Carol shared that ADRC Elder Benefit Specialist Mindy Shrader helped her appeal a Medicare denial for her late husband’s ambulance transportation; these efforts helped Carol get reimbursed the $800 for the ambulance feeds and approximately $80 from the supplement.
B. Tyczynski shared an award he received from the WDVA for his work for the VSO.
8. Next Meeting Date: Thursday, May 12, 2016, 8:15 a.m., West Square Building, Third Floor County Board Gallery Room 326A
9. Veterans Service Office Business Items
A. Veterans Service Office Departmental Updates and Service Trends; March benefit fair went well. Conference was a success. Working on setting date/location for PTSD training, planning on September. Initiated contact with veterans the VSO has not had contact with in five years or more. Moore asked how communication between ADRC and VSO is—both Blodgett and Tyczynski agreed that communication is frequent and productive. Tyczynski shared that about 50 county park passes have been distributed and that most recipients were new clients. Moore asks what the Veterans Service Commission is/does; Tyczynski explained that it is a statutory commission and every county must have one and that they oversee the release of funds for veteran’s relief—beyond that each commission differs. Moore would like more updates on collaboration between the VSO and the Veterans Service Commission.
B. Review the Monthly Financial Statements
C. Consideration and Approval of the Monthly Invoices; Motion to approve monthly invoices by Gramling, second by Moore. Motion carried.
10. Aging & Disability Resource Center Business Items
A. Aging & Disability Resource Center Departmental Updates and Service Trends; Office contacts continue to increase so the ADRC is focusing on meeting the demands of new and returning clients. Lisa Karau, I &A, left the ADRC and a new I&A will start in May. I&A workload has increased and Blodgett feels the ADRC will soon need to discuss how to get a 6th I&A staff member. Update on Goals: unduplicated contacts continue to increase, transportation ridership is down due to low bus ridership and decreased taxi rides, but Volunteer Escort Rides increased.
Spring Green congregate has indicated they want a voice in what they are eating; Blodgett feels the Nutrition Advisory Council will satisfy this need and will address concerns of diners.
B. Approval of Nutrition Advisory Committee Members; will wait until next month.
C. Review the Monthly Financial Statements; 2015 checks are coming in so our budget is balancing out.

12. Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle Country Board Update; continue to grow presence; one focus is how to encourage people into CNA work with low pay.
13. Public Comment; None.
14. Agenda Items for Next Meeting; ADRC will bring in proposed Nutrition Advisory Committee.
