Planning Services

The Land Resources & Environment Department's Planning Division, provides professional planning services for the county's rural and urban communities from conception and planning stages through implementation. Planning provides communities with long-range, recreational, agricultural, and preservation planning services with a focus on innovation to advance planning in individual communities, which collectively improves all of Sauk County.

Through partnerships with municipalities, planning services staff excels at managing growth and promoting the highest quality development by articulating community visions; providing information and creative recommendations based on sound and contemporary planning practices.
