USH 12 Town of Delton Crash

On April 6, 2014 at approximately 6:52am the Sauk County Sheriff’s Communications Center was notified of a single vehicle roll over crash on USH 12 just north of CTH A in the Township of Delton.  Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies, Officers from Wisconsin Dells Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Kilbourn Fire Department, and Dells-Delton Ambulance Service were immediately sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a 1996 Honda Civic in the west ditch.  It was apparent that it had rolled over numerous times.  They located a female that had been ejected from the vehicle.  UW Madison Hospital Med Flight was requested to respond to the scene.

The preliminary investigation showed that the Honda, driven by Kari M. Grassl, age 33, of Wisconsin Dells, WI, was southbound on USH 12.  Grassl lost control of the vehicle causing it to enter the west ditch and overturn numerous times.  It is believed that this crash occurred around 1:30am and was not noticed until the time of call at 6:52am.

Grassl was flown to UW Hospital in Madison for treatment of her injuries.  It is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor.  Grassl has been charged with Operating After Suspension.

This incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
