** For immediate Release**

On May 22nd, 2010 at approximately 1:40 pm the Sauk County Communications Center received a call of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Old Lake Road and CTH DL in the Town of Baraboo.

Initial investigation of the incident by the Sheriff’s Department revealed that a vehicle driven by 27 year old Stephen Sitton of Merrimac was southbound on Old Lake Road when he failed to stop for a stop sign hitting an eastbound mini van driven by 36 year old Nathan Heiden also of Merrimac that was traveling on CTH DL.

Sitton and a female juvenile passenger in his vehicle were uninjured. Nathan Heiden and a male juvenile in his vehicle were uninjured. Two other passengers in the minivan, an adult female and a male juvenile, were transported by Baraboo Ambulance to St. Clare Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department. Speed seems to be a factor in the crash. The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Devils Lake Rangers, Baraboo Fire, and Baraboo District Ambulance Service.
