Two Vehicle Crash Near Ski Hi Road

Special News Release

November 4, 2011

On November 4, 2011, at 1:05 P.M. the Sauk County Communications Center received a 911 call of a two vehicle crash on HWY 12 at Ski Hi Road in the Town of Sumpter, Sauk County. The caller reported that the road was blocked and there was one person seriously injured.

Upon arrival of the deputies the north bound and south bound lanes were found to be totally blocked. It was determined Stanley L Sitts, age 71, of Box Elder, SD was stopped to make a left hand turn onto Ski Hi Road. As Mr. Sitts was waiting to turn his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Krystin R Stockland, age 19, of Madison, WI. Sitts and Stockland were transported to St. Clare Hospital for their injuries by the Baraboo Ambulance Service.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Sauk County Highway Department, Baraboo Fire Department and Baraboo EMS responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
