Traffic Stop - Multiple Arrests

On Sunday, March 6th, 2022 at approximately 6:44 PM deputies with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Campus Inn motel, located at 750 West Pine Street in the village of West Baraboo. Prior to conducting the stop, the deputies had observed a 2014 Dodge Charger being driven erratically around the village.

Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The operator was identified as Pamela Greer, age 55 of Baraboo, WI. The front seat passenger provided deputies with false identifying information but was eventually positively identified as Dustin Julseth, age 34 of Schofield, WI. The back seat passenger was eventually identified as Corrina Vastine, age 25 of Baraboo. During the course of the traffic stop, Julseth was asked to exit the vehicle due to the belief that he had provided false information about who he was. As Julseth was asked to exit the vehicle the deputy observed a large knife in a sheath on his belt. The deputies attempted to take Julseth into custody and he became physically resistive and attempted to take one of the deputies' firearms. Julseth was initially able to get away from the deputies and lead them on a short foot pursuit before being taken into custody by the deputies along with a civilian who aided them as well. During the foot pursuit a taser was deployed on Julseth which assisted the deputies taking him into custody. A search of Julseth's clothing post arrest turned up suspected illegal narcotics. Julseth was medically cleared at St. Clare Hospital before being taken to the Sauk County Jail.

After Julseth was taken into custody, deputies along with officers from the Baraboo Police Department made contact with Vastine. During contact with Vastine, suspected illegal narcotics and items of drug paraphernalia were located. As they attempted to arrest Vastine she also began to physically fight their efforts before being taken into custody and being secured in the passenger compartment of a squad car. Shortly after being placed in the rear of a squad, an officer assigned to monitor Vastine noted that she was exhibiting signs of an overdose. Vastine was removed from the squad and administered Narcan by officers on scene before being transported to St. Clare Hospital and eventually the Sauk County Jail.

Deputies then made contact with Greer. Greer was cooperative with them and was ultimately arrested as well and transported to the Sauk County Jail.

Julseth faces charges of Disarming a Peace Officer, Battery to Law Enforcement Officer, Carrying a Concealed Knife, Manufacture/Deliver Heroin, Manufacture/Deliver Amphetamine, Possess Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Felony Bail Jumping and warrants through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and Adams County.

Vastine faces charges of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Bail Jumping, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, a warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and a probation hold.

Greer faces charges of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Felony Bail Jumping.

One of the deputies involved in this incident was transported to St. Clare Hospital via ambulance and treated for injuries sustained during the arrest before being released.

Assisting the Sauk County Sheriff's Office on scene were members of the Baraboo Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Baraboo EMS.
