Traffic Crash - CTH H at Coon Bluff

On August 12, 2014 the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash involving an overturned semi on CTH H at Coon Bluff Rd. in the Town of Dellona. The investigation of the crash revealed that the semi operator, Albert I. Ellis, age 58, from Plover, WI, was westbound on CTH H at which time a vehicle being operated by Han Xiao, age 57, from Chicago, IL, failed to yield from a stop sign and pulled into the path of Ellis.  Ellis was unable to avoid an impact with the Xiao vehicle.  Upon impact, Ellis’ semi over turned on the roadway blocking both east and westbound traffic lanes on CTH H.

Xiao along with four passengers in his vehicle received non life threatening injuries.  Three of the passengers were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.  Ellis received non life threatening injuries and was also transported by ambulance.

Xiao was cited for Failure To Yield Right Of Way From A Stop Sign.  Seat belts were used by all occupants.  Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wisconsin State Patrol, Dell-Delton EMS, Lake Delton Fire, and Platte's heavy duty wrecker.
