Suspected Heroin Overdoses Send Two to the Hospital

On October 21, 2013, the Sauk County 9-1-1 Center received a call of a male subject not breathing at a motel in West Baraboo.  Upon the officers arrival the subject was breathing but unresponsive.  The subject was transported to the St Clare Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.  A preliminary investigation has lead authorities to believe the subject overdosed on heroin. 

 

This is the second call within one week that the 9-1-1 Center received for a subject not breathing because of a suspected overdose of heroin.  On October 15, 2013, deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Troy.  Upon deputies arrival, EMS was on scene and assisting the unconscious subject with breathing.  The subject was transported to the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.

 

Both incidents continue to be investigated by the Sauk County Drug Task Force and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sauk County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-TIP-SAUK (847-7285). Callers may be eligible for cash rewards and can remain anonymous.
