The initial investigation has revealed a 1997 Corvette driven by a 58 year old Arena man was eastbound on STH 60. The Corvette lost control in a curve, traveled into the westbound lane of traffic and struck a westbound 2014 Ford Escape driven by 69 year old Madison woman. The Ford was occupied by three additional passengers. The Corvette operator was the lone occupant.

The operator of the Corvette and a passenger of the Ford were both transported to UW Hospital in Madison by Med Flight due to injuries sustained in the crash. Theoperator of the Ford was transported to UW Hospital by ambulance. Two other passengers of the Ford, were transported by ambulance to Sauk Prairie Hospital by ambulance. The conditions of all involved are unknown at this time.

The investigation into this accident is continuing by the Sauk County Sheriff's Department. Speed and failure to have control by the operator of the Corvette are believed to be factors in the cause of the crash.

Sauk Prairie, Spring Green, Baraboo, and Lodi Ambulance Services, Plain, Sauk City, Spring Green and Prairie Du Sac Fire Departments, the Spring Green Police Department and the Sauk County Highway Department all assisted in this incident as well as two UW Med Flight helicopters.
