Search Warrant / Methamphetamine - North Freedom

Reick

On Thursday, March 22nd, 2018, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received information via Sauk County Crime Stoppers of ongoing drug use and methamphetamine manufacturing at 324 South Maple St, Lot #6 in the Village of North Freedom. Additional information was that there was a person present there that was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives responded to the residence to investigate and consent was gained from the homeowner, Amanda M. Antes, age 31 of North Freedom, to search the home for the alleged wanted person after she denied that the person was at the home. While conducting this search, Drug Paraphernalia was located in the home.

A search warrant was obtained to more thoroughly search the premises. During this subsequent search, a trap door was located in a bedroom that gave access to the area under the mobile home. Deputies searched that area and located Robert A. Reick, age 31 of North Freedom, hiding between the structural beams on the underside of the mobile home.

Once Reick was in custody, a further search for drug activity commenced, resulting in the discovery of Methamphetamine production materials, Methamphetamine waste from Methamphetamine production as well as evidence of Marijuana use.

Reick was arrested on a warrant issued through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections after being deemed an absconder from probation supervision on a Felony Burglary conviction from a 2015 case in Columbia County. He also faces new charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Materials for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine Waste and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.

Amanda Antes was arrested and charged with Maintaining a Drug Dwelling, Obstructing an Officer and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both she and Reick were taken to the Sauk County Jail where they await a bail hearing.

Due to the hazardous nature of Methamphetamine production and waste, members of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Clandestine Laboratory Team and the Chicago Crime Scene Clean-up were called to assist with this investigation.

This investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.

It is with the assistance of the public reporting criminal activity that this and other recent investigations have been successfully investigated. If you have any information regarding this or other investigations, you are encouraged to contact the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office or Sauk County Crime Stoppers @ 1-888-TIP-SAUK (1-888-847-7285).
