OWI #6

On Friday August 11, 2023 at approximately 2:12PM, Sauk County Dispatch received multiple calls that a vehicle heading northbound on Highway 12 was all over the road, entering the ditch multiple times. A Sauk County Deputy located the vehicle on Highway 12 and performed a traffic stop near Armory View Road, in the Township of Sumpter. The Deputy made contact with the operator, who was identified as Nicholas R Lavigne, age 41 of Baraboo.

While speaking with Lavigne, the Deputy observed signs of impairment. Lavigne was asked to perform field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests, Lavigne was placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence 6^th Offense.

Charges of Operating While under the Influence 6^th Offense, Operating while Revoked 4+, Fail to Install Ignition Interlock Device, Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription, and a Probation Violation are being referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
