OWI 5th Offense

On October 7, 2025 at approximately 7:30pm a Deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office observed a vehicle operating on Highway 136 in the Town of Baraboo. The Deputy observed equipment violations on the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Eric J. Bratland age 47 of rural Baraboo. While speaking with Eric the Deputy observed open intoxicants in the vehicle and signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Testing was conducted and probable cause for arrest was developed. Eric was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence 5th Offense. Eric was transported to the Sauk County Jail and additional charges of Felony Bail Jumping were referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office along with additional traffic violations. Wisconsin Probation and Parole issued a Warrant for the arrest of Eric and he is being held on this as well.
