OWI 3rd with Minor Child

On Saturday, September 23, 2023 at approximately 02:12 AM a deputy from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on USH 12 near Armory View Road in the Township of Sumpter. The deputy made contact with the operator, who was identified as James W. Kohl, age 28 of North Freedom, WI. 

While speaking with Kohl, the deputy observed signs of impairment. Kohl was asked to perform field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests, Kohl was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated 3^th Offense with a Passenger Under the Age of 16. 

A charge of Operating While Intoxicated 3^th Offense with a Passenger Under the Age of 16, is being referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
