On Saturday, February 10th, 2024 at approximately 2:00 PM a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on CTH G at STH 58 in the Township of Ironton.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Richard Horkan, age 63, of Reedsburg. During the contact with Horkan the deputy noted signs of impairment. Horkan was asked to do field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense. Horkan was transported to the Sauk County Jail.
Charges of Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney's Office.
