On October 25th, 2023 at approximately 3:30 PM the Sauk County Communications Center received multiple calls regarding a driving complaint on State Highway 33. The vehicle then was involved in a crash shortly after. The driver was able to drive the vehicle out of the ditch but the vehicle became disabled.
A deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle and driver on State Highway 33 at Lake Virginia Road in the Township of Excelsior. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Nugene Parks, age 52 from Wonewoc. Parks was not injured in the crash. The deputy observed several signs of impairment from Parks. Parks was requested to submit to field sobriety tests. Parks refused to complete any tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense. Parks was transported to the Sauk County Jail.
A charge of Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney's Office.
