On Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at approximately 6:30 PM a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation on State Highway 78 at Grandview Avenue in the Township of Merrimac.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Rita Cripe, age 56 of Merrimac. During contact with Cripe the deputy noted signs of impairment. Cripe was asked to do field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense. Cripe was transported to the Sauk County Jail.
A charge of Operating While Intoxicated - 3rd Offense will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney's Office.
