On Monday, March 7th, 2022 at approximately 3:46 AM Sauk County Dispatch received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver parked at the gas pumps of the Kwik Trip gas station located at 617 West Pine Street in the village of West Baraboo. It was reported that a male subject operating a Chevrolet Cobalt was stumbling around the gas pumps and smelled of intoxicants.
A sergeant with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and made contact with the male, identified as Robert Novak, age 48 of Sauk City. During the initial contact with Novak the sergeant was able to detect signs of alcohol impairment. Novak was submitted to field sobriety testing and as a result was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated, 3rd offense.
