Operator Cited For OWI As A 4th Offense

On 07/22/15 at 10:59 A.M. the Sauk County 9-1-1 Center received a call of a single vehicle crash on STH 136 in the Town of Baraboo.  The initial investigation revealed that Robert D. Young, age 49. from Baraboo, was operating a 2003 Ford Ranger westbound on STH 136.  Young was negotiating a curve when the vehicle drifted to the right shoulder.  Young over corrected to the left and lost control of the vehicle.   The vehicle left the roadway on the south side and over turned several times.  Young, who was seriously injured, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Baraboo Fire Department.  Young was flown to UW Hospital by Med-Flight.

Young was cited for OWI 4th Offense, Failure To Maintain Control Of A Vehicle, and Open Intoxicants In A Motor Vehicle.

Seatbelt information is not available at this time. Alcohol and speed are contributing factors to the crash.

The crash does remain under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.  Assisting at the crash site were Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Med Flight.
