One Vehicle Accident Leaves One Person Dead - Updated 11/12/2010

November 11, 2010

On November 11, 2010 at 2:32 PM, the Sauk County Sheriff's Department received a call of a one car crash on CTH G approximately 3/10 mile north of Howard Road in the Township of Bear Creek.

After a preliminary investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department it was determined that the operator of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was traveling south on CTH G when the vehicle drifted onto the gravel shoulder. The operator brought the vehicle back onto the highway but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to slide and then roll multiple times before coming to rest in the west ditch. The operator was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene from severe head injuries by the Sauk County Coroner. It is believed the operator was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The operator was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family members.

This incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Hillpoint Fire Department and Plain Ambulance.

The operator in this crash has been identified as William K. Radtke, age 36 of Spring Green.
