Motorcycle Crash
On August 29, 2013 at approximately 11:20am the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a motorcycle crash with injuries to the operator on Old Bluff Trail in the Township of Sumpter. Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies, Sauk Prairie Ambulance, and Sauk City Fire Department were immediately sent to the scene.
The investigation revealed that Phillip J. Hawley, age 56, of Prairie Du Sac, WI, was northbound on Old Bluff Trail when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the east ditch.
Due to injuries sustained in this crash, Hawley was flown to University of Wisconsin Hospital by UW Med Flight Helicopter. Hawley was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 6th Offense as a result of this incident and he was not wearing a helmet.
