It was reported that both vehicles sustained heavy damage and there was total road blockage.

Initial investigation showed that a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling east on Highway 14 and crossed the centerline of the roadway, striking a westbound 2000 Ford F-350 hauling a goose neck trailer and a tractor. The operator of the S-10 had to be extricated from the scene by fire personnel and was taken to a hospital in Madison via med-flight having sustained serious life threatening injuries. The operator of the F-350 was not injured. The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours while sheriff's office staff investigated the crash and the investigation remains ongoing. Names of those involved are being withheld at this time.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Spring Green Fire Department, Spring Green Ambulance Service and UW Med-Flight.
