News Release – Missing Juvenile Located

On Tuesday, July 21st, 2015, the Sauk County Sheriffs Office received a report of a 16 year old Juvenile female who had run away, presumably with her 19 year old boyfriend, whom was prohibited from having any contact with the juvenile due to a Child Abuse Injunction.

During the course of the investigation to locate and recover the missing teenager, several tips were received and analyzed, and investigative techniques utilizing modern social medial tools were used.

In the afternoon of Monday, July 27th, 2015, Sauk County Detectives, following up on tips and leads, along with social media investigation, believed that they may have located the Juvenile and/or the suspect, Cody L. Fry at a hotel in Seattle, Washington.

Seattle Police Department Officers responded to the Motel and located both the missing Juvenile, as well as 19 year old Cody L. Fry.

The juvenile was turned over to Child Protective Services for further proceedings. Fry was taken into custody on charges in Wisconsin of Interference with Child Custody under Statute 948.31 (2), a class I Felony, where, upon conviction, he may be fined not more than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000), or imprisoned not more than Three (3) years and six (6) months or both. Fry will also face charges upon his return for violating the terms of the Injunction prohibiting contact between the two.

Fry will undergo extradition proceedings in the State of Washington, after which he is expected to be returned to Wisconsin for a bail hearing in Sauk County Circuit Court.
