Missing Hunter

On November 8, 2014 at 7:01pm the Sauk County Communications Center received a call regarding a lost hunter.  It was reported that three men from the Milwaukee area were hunting on Nature Conservancy land off of Forest Drive in the Township of Baraboo when one of them stopped to rest and became separated from the others at approximately 3:30pm.  The other two hunters returned to their vehicle, but were unable to locate the third hunter that was left in the woods.

 

A search was conducted and the lost hunter was located by a Sauk County Deputy in the area of Baxter’s Hollow in the Township of Sumpter at 10:55pm.  The hunter was cold and did have a minor leg injury, but refused medical attention.  The Sauk County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo Police Department K-9, Sauk Prairie Ambulance and Baraboo Ambulance.
