Man Arrested for OWI 5

Special News Release

On August 16, 2012 at approximately 12:30 a.m., a Sauk County Deputy overheard Wisconsin State Patrol give out a driving complaint of a vehicle westbound on I90 near mile marker 92 that was all over the highway. The vehicle was described as a blue Ford Ranger with a Harley Davidson sticker in the back window. State Patrol was unable to locate the vehicle.


The Sauk County Deputy began traveling north on CTH H towards the Interstate. While traveling north on CTH H, the deputy observed a southbound vehicle travel into the gravel shoulder of the road. This vehicle was also observed crossing over the center. The vehicle was stopped and matched the description of the vehicle State Patrol was looking for. During the traffic stop the deputy could smell an odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle. Jerry W. Peters, age 47 of Reedsburg, WI was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 5th offense as well as several other traffic violations. Peters was incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail.
