On Monday, January 14th, 2019 at about 11:17 am, a Town of Delton resident called the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office to report a missing family member that had last been seen the previous afternoon at their residence.

The missing person was located deceased in his vehicle shortly after 1:00 pm Monday in the parking lot behind the Ho-Chunk Casino and Convention Center, located at S3214 CTH BD in the Township of Delton.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the death was suspicious in nature and a request for assistance was made to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, State Crime Lab to process the scene.

At this time, the death is being investigated as a Homicide. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is scheduled for later today. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending relative notifications and further investigation.

A suspect in this incident has been identified as Robert M. Pulvermacher, 68 years old of rural Middleton, WI. He is currently on community supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and an apprehension request, which is essentially an administrative arrest warrant, through that agency, has been issued for his arrest.

Efforts to locate the suspect at this point have been unsuccessful. He is said to frequent casinos in Madison and Baraboo, regularly playing table games such as blackjack.

This investigation is ongoing and no additional details will be released at this time. Updates to this release will be sent out as new, relevant information is gathered.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office urges the community to be on the lookout for the suspect, 68 year old Robert M. Pulvermacher of rural Middleton, and to call 911 in the event that he is located. We also ask anyone with information regarding the identity of the unknown, younger subject in this release, or with any additional information related to this incident to call Sauk County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-847-7285 immediately.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in this investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, State Crime Lab, Ho-Chunk Nation Police Department, Ho-Chunk Casino and Convention Security and the Sauk County Coroner’s Office.
