Helicopter Crash in the Township of Honey Creek

At approximately 1:00 pm on today’s date, the Sauk County Communications Center received a call of a helicopter crash near the intersection of CTH PF and Elm Road in the Township of Honey Creek.

Deputies responded to the scene and located the pilot who had walked away from the crash uninjured. The pilot was identified as 47 year old man from East Troy, Wisconsin.

The investigation of the incident revealed that the helicopter had just lifted from the ground after filling its crop spraying system. While making a low level turn the spray boom made contact with the ground causing the helicopter to lose lift and crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
