Fatal Traffic Accident
January 21, 2019
On Monday January 21, 2019, at approximately 6:31am the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle traffic accident on County Hwy BD south of North Reedsburg Road in the Township of Delton. Sheriff’s Deputies, Lake Delton Fire Department, Dells-Delton Ambulance service, and Wisconsin State Patrol were sent to the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Kobussen school bus was traveling northbound on County Hwy BD when a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander attempted to exit the Whitetail Crossing parking lot onto County Hwy BD and was struck by the school bus.
The operator of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner’s Office. No children were present on the school bus at the time of the crash.
The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives. This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
