Fatal Fire
On April 14, 2015 at approximately 1:05pm the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a reported forest fire behind a residence on Coon Bluff Road in the Township of Dellona.
Delton Fire Department, Dells-Delton Ambulance, and Wisconsin DNR Fire Rangers were immediately sent to the scene. Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputies and Kilbourn Fire Department were also requested to assist. While extinguishing the fire, fire personnel located a deceased person inside the burn area. Sheriff’s Department Detectives, the Sauk County Coroner’s Office, and Wisconsin DNR Fire Investigators were sent to the scene.
This matter remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Sauk County Coroner’s Office, and Wisconsin DNR. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
