Fatal Crash

News Release

On November 9, 2013, at 7:49 P.M., the Sauk County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call reporting that a vehicle was found against a tree on Hogsback Road east of Mirror Lake Road, in the Township of Baraboo.  The reporting party was not able to see anyone in or around the vehicle.
Upon the arrival of a Sauk County Sheriff's Deputy, the femail driver, and lone occupant, was found trapped inside the vehicle.  The 19 year old Baraboo woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner's Office.  The vehicle was severely damaged and speed appears to be a factor in this crash.  It is not believed that alcohol is a factor and the driver was not wearing her seatbelt.  The deceased name is being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives. The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Baraboo Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.  This incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.
