Burglary

On November 21, 2012, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in the Town of Honey Creek. A witness to the burglary was able to provide authorities with the location of the suspect vehicle as it left the scene. The vehicle was seen traveling in the Town of Prairie Du Sac by Sauk County Deputies and a Sauk Prairie Police Officer. The vehicle was stopped and as a result of the investigation Steven L. Kading, age 47, from Madison and Carrie J. Tottingham, age 34, from Madison, were arrested and incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail. Kading was charged with Possession of Burglary Tools, 2 counts of Burglary, and 2 counts of Theft. Tottingham was charged with Burglary.

If convicted Kading could face up to 35 years imprisonment, a fine up to $160,000 or both. Tottingham could face up to 15 years imprisonment, a fine up to $50,000 or both.
