3 Car Crash - STH 33 LaValle Township

On Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at 4:30pm the Sauk County Communications Center received a call regarding a three vehicle crash with subjects trapped on STH 33 west of Wilkinson Road in the Town of LaValle.  Deputies responded and were able to make a preliminary determination that a 2007 Honda Odyssey was traveling east on STH 33 when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a 2011 Ford Explorer that was traveling west on STH 33.  After striking the Ford, the Honda then collided nearly head-on with a 2011 Toyota Corolla that was also traveling west on STH 33 behind the Ford. 

Occupants and Injuries:

Ford Explorer – Driver was Danis Deyarmin, age 48 of Hillsboro, WI.  Front seat passenger was Helen M. Deyarmin, age 76 of Hillsboro, WI.  Rear seat passenger was Timothy E. Deyarmin, age 55 of Hillsboro, WI.  All three occupants of this vehicle were transported to Reedsburg Area Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Honda Odyssey – Driver was Daniel J. Breunig, age 67 of LaCrosse, WI.  Rear seat passenger was Marjean R. Breunig, age 65 of LaCrosse, WI.  Daniel was transported from the scene to UW Hospital by MedFlight with life-threatening injuries.  Marjean was transported to Reedsburg Area Medical Center by ambulance with serious injuries.

Toyota Corolla – Driver was Gary R. Michel, age 65 of Kendall, WI.  Front seat passenger was Peter L. Newton, age 58 of Wausau, WI.  Gary was transported from the scene to UW Hospital by MedFlight with life-threatening injuries.  Peter was transported to Reedsburg Area Medical Center by ambulance with serious injuries.

   The Sauk County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Juneau County Sheriff’s Department, Reedsburg Area Ambulance, LaValle Fire Department, Wonewoc Fire Department and Wonewoc Ambulance.  Alcohol and speed were not believed to be factors.  This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
